I think that this situation is
being blown out of proportion! Just because Jason Collins is openly gay doesn't
make him a lesser person to anyone else. I believe that everyone should be
treated equally. I think that this is so popular in today's society because
everyone is so judgmental now a days. I feel like they pick on every little
thing that they don't like and make it known to everyone and I also think that
they blow it out of porportion.
I feel like the “Big Wigs” if you
will, make this such a big deal because there not accepting of it. Which I feel
like is wrong! I also believe that we should all be treated the same no matter
your preference or race. I feel bad for what he has to go through just because
his preferences are different then some people’s.
Lastly, I think that if you play a
good game it shouldn’t matter if your gay, bi or straight. All that should
matter is how good you play and that you love the sport you play.

Mr Jones
When I first came to the Academy I didn't know anyone here or new where anything was. I had Mr. Jones for my first period. He always came in with a big smile on his face and made everyone laugh bright and early in the morning. I've never understood math. None of my previous math teacher's EVER took their time to help me understand math or just sit next to me and try to explain what we were doing in a different way. But Mr. Jones did! He helped me a lot and helped me understand math from the bottom up.
Mr. Jones helped me understand a lot abut life other than math. He helped me understand why we learn what we do even though we may not need it in our future. He also listened when I needed someone to listen to me. Mr. Jones was like a father figure to some of these children at the Academy. He showed that there are good people still in this world.
Losing Mr. Jones is really hard for me and everyone else on the Academy campus. He never failed to help anyone who needed help. As I walk through the halls I hear everyone saying " The Academy will never be the same.." I feel the same way as they do! Mr. Jones gave me a different out look on life, he taught me to step back and try to find different ways to look at different situations. Mr. Jones will definitely be missed by the Wolf Pack! Rest In Peace Mr. Jones !

Chris Archer came to the Academy yesterday, and talked about his life growing up and how he got to be where he is today. What got me the most is when he was telling us about his life growing up. When Chris said that he was adopted by his grandparent's and how they were white and he was mixed. He remembered the weird look's that he got when they'd go out to public place's. Knowing that he was adopted and wondered why he still kept going and didn't let anything stop him from play baseball.

What interested me about this particular Coca Cola Super Bowl 2014 commercial was that it showed different ethnic groups got together with their families to spend time with each other. But what I didn't understand is what the main concept of this commercial is really about.
This commercial is controversial to different ethnics groups because they start singing a song in English and they move on to different languages.
I think that this commercial should have better elaborated on what it's really trying to show and tell people.
